On behalf of our esteemed directors, Catalina Garza and Ernesto Quenedit, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your interest in our dance program. We are honored to introduce the exceptional individuals who contribute to the excellence of Quenedit Ballet School, located in San Antonio, TX.
Our visionary artistic directors, Catalina and Ernesto, are passionate and dedicated educators committed to sharing their profound love for dance with every student. Since establishing the school in San Antonio in 2010, they have cultivated a program that nurtures students in a safe and supportive environment. Their unwavering focus on strength, flexibility, and musicality has fostered remarkable progress among our dancers, and we take great pride in celebrating their achievements.

Catalina Garza, born in Monterrey, Mexico, began her ballet training at eight and studied at the National Institute of the Arts from 1982-1990. She performed with Ballet of Monterrey under Anne Marie DeAngelo and later Fernando Bujones before joining Mexico’s National Company of Dance in 1995. In 1997, she moved to the U.S. to dance with The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, performing iconic roles such as Sugar Plum in The Nutcracker. She also danced with Ballet Met, The Lyric Opera of Chicago, and toured internationally.
An accomplished ballerina, Ms. Garza has performed classical and contemporary works, including Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, and Etudes. She has taught at renowned schools in Mexico and the U.S., directed ballet programs, and choreographed productions like Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Her students have excelled at the Youth America Grand Prix, earning top placements in regional and national competitions.

Ernesto Quenedit, a native of Havana, Cuba, graduated from the National School of Ballet in 1984 as both a dancer and teacher under Alicia Alonso. He became a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba in 1990, performing lead roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, and more, while touring Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
He later danced with the National Ballet of Monterrey and the National Company of Dance in Mexico before joining The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in 1996 under Gerald Arpino. Mr. Quenedit also performed as a principal dancer with Arizona Ballet, Ballet Met, and Chicago Lyric Opera. He has been a guest artist with Tulsa Ballet, Peoria Ballet, Salt Creek Ballet, and Ballet International.
As a respected teacher and choreographer, he has trained students for the Youth America Grand Prix, with many winning regional and national awards. In 2011, he received the Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding Choreographer Award.
